Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty without scars, in just 40 minutes in our clinic. Absolutely natural results that last forever! Depending on the needs of each individual, we choose between surgical or non-invasive laser blepharoplasty for the upper or lower eyelids.
The bags and looseness around the eyes add years and make the gaze appear tired. More specifically, the skin in this area is sensitive and quite thin, which is why over time it shows various symptoms that burden our appearance. Some of these are the protrusion of the periorbital fat and the looseness of the ocular muscle.
Blepharoplasty is one of the most common procedures in facial aesthetics, derived from the words “eyelid” and “plastic,” meaning to sculpt, to shape. With this procedure, you will regain a lively and rested gaze and a refreshed, youthful appearance on your face!
Blepharoplasty before and after
As you will see in the before and after images and videos of blepharoplasty, the improvement of the lower and upper eyelids significantly contributes to the overall appearance of the face. We remove the excess skin from the eyelids and make you look at least 10 years younger. The area around the eyes is the first to reveal age and fatigue. Over time, the skin loosens, bags form, and the gaze loses its freshness.
Blepharoplasty comes to restore this balance, bringing back your natural expression without altering your features. The result is discreet and absolutely natural. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with minimal recovery time. Most patients return to their daily activities within a few days. Blepharoplasty is certainly a safe and effective solution for both men and women who wish to rejuvenate their appearance and regain confidence.

What is blepharoplasty? (Surgical method)
Blepharoplasty is the procedure aimed at reducing or adding fat and removing loose skin around the eyes. It is suitable for men and women over 35 years of age, except in cases where drooping of the upper eyelid causes vision problems. Blepharoplasty can be performed on all four eyelids or individually if there is an issue with any of them. If you want to improve the wrinkles at the side of the eye as well, you can combine blepharoplasty with Botox or chemical peeling. It can also be combined with brow lifting or facelift, depending on the needs of each face. Some health issues such as:
- Graves’ disease
- hypothyroidism
- hypertension
- dry eye syndrome
- diabetes
May likely constitute contraindications to proceed with invasive blepharoplasty. Before proceeding with the surgery, you must inform your doctor of any significant medical history.
The procedure of invasive blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is performed with a combination of local anesthesia and sedation in our office. In cases where a combination of procedures is necessary, general anesthesia may be required. The duration of blepharoplasty is 40 minutes to two hours, depending on each case and the issue we are addressing. Some of the steps in the procedure are:
- The incision on the upper eyelid is made in its natural fold, while on the lower eyelid it is made just below the lashes or on the inside of the eyelid.
- For patients who require the addition or removal of fat from the lower eyelid, an internal incision is made. This way, after the necessary recovery time, the incisions are no longer visible and we achieve a completely natural result.
- The plastic surgeon removes the excess fat, corrects the sagging, and then closes the skin with special fine stitches.
- After blepharoplasty, the eyelids will have noticeable swelling and you will feel discomfort, which will subside after the second day.
- Finally, the stitches are usually removed on the fifth day after the surgery.
- About a week later, the incisions will be slightly red, but you will be able to use special makeup.
After the blepharoplasty procedure
Some bruising and a degree of swelling are normal after eyelid surgery. Although the procedure is performed in the eye area, swelling may also occur in other parts of the face.
Use the special ointment prescribed by your doctor, as it will significantly relieve you. Additionally, you should prevent drying of the eyes by using the special drops. During the recovery from eyelid surgery, you should:
- Avoid intense physical exercise.
- Wear sunglasses.
- Avoid activities that may cause dryness in your eyes, such as reading, using a computer or tablet, and watching television.
- Avoid swimming.
- Do not wear contact lenses for about 10 days.
- Avoid smoking.
- Do not rub your eyes.
- Keep your head elevated above your chest while sleeping.
- Apply cold compresses to reduce swelling.
- Avoid medications that increase blood flow (aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen).
What is laser blepharoplasty without bleeding?
- Immediate results, after just 2 to 3 sessions
- In this specific treatment, we do not use a scalpel to remove excess skin
- There are no stitches
- All possible complications of a surgical procedure are avoided
- Painless and easy treatment, with which you can immediately return to your daily activities.
- It is an ideal solution for anyone who is afraid of incisions and stitches, since with the non-invasive process we can immediately correct imperfections around the eyes.
- Each session lasts about 20 minutes
- No injectable anesthesia is needed, only the use of an anesthetic ointment.
- In contrast to the surgical version, the marks after the session are very small and can be covered with special make-up.
- The non-invasive blepharoplasty with laser is based on the process of sublimation, which removes the surface keratinocytes, does not create scars, and does not affect the surrounding tissues.
How to care for the surrounding area after non-invasive laser blepharoplasty?
- You can wash with plenty of clean water.
- If you feel dryness in the area, apply the cream recommended by your doctor.
- You can dry the area using a hairdryer on the cool setting.
- Protect your face from the sun as much as possible. The cream that has been recommended provides sun protection, however, avoid sun exposure.
