Acne Treatment – Facial Cleansing
Acne is a skin disease that primarily occurs in adolescence. Of course, there are many times when acne troubles us in our adult life as well. Characteristics of acne include the intense oiliness of the skin and the excessive activity of the sebaceous glands.
Acne Treatment
Then the cells and oily sebum clog the hair follicles, leading to the formation of bacteria. Finally, these bacteria swell the pores, resulting in acne and blemishes.
The main types & kinds of acne
- Vesicular type – It is a combination of nodules and papules that cause internal pimples resulting in significant pain. This type of inflammation can appear not only on the face but also on the back, chest, and other areas of the body.
- Comedonal – In this type, open or closed comedones appear. The open ones are blackheads made up of a combination of hair, keratin, and remnants from sebaceous glands. The closed ones consist of white keratinous spots and are a milder form, without inflammation.
- Cystic – This type presents the appearance of cysts, mainly around the mouth and on the forehead. It is the most painful and severe form of acne and if not treated in time leaves marks on the skin.
- Papulopustular – In this type of acne, the skin shows spots with a quite intense red color, with or without pus. It is a relatively mild type of acne with small-sized inflammation on the skin.
- Fulminant – It is a relatively rare form that usually occurs in young men. It often leads to scarring and appears on the back, face, and chest.

Facial Cleansing
The first stage of facial cleansing is makeup removal with a special cleansing milk, followed by a good facial peeling. Next, we apply warm steam and ozone to the face to increase blood circulation and soften the keratin layer. This makes it easier to remove black and whiteheads, pimples, etc. After that, we place a special soothing mask that leaves the skin rejuvenated, clean, and firm. Finally, we use a special healing day cream for flawless hydration.
Laser for acne
- Treating inflammation by acting on dilated capillaries.
- Bactericidal action
- Reduction of sebum secretion
The results of laser treatment for acne are immediately visible, almost from the very first application. The recommended sessions are determined by Dr. Tsakoni, depending on the size of the problem and the needs of your skin.
Photodynamic Therapy – PDT
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is based on the production of porphyrins from the bacterium P. Acnes. The porphyrins are activated by phototherapy and undergo a photochemical reaction that eradicates and destroys the bacterium. The multiple benefits of photodynamic therapy (PDT) make it an ideal choice for treating acne on the face, back, and chest.
Acne Treatment with Vitamins
- Vitamin A – Belongs to antioxidants and significantly helps reduce sebum secretion. Additionally, it protects skin cells from free radicals and gives a radiant and healthy skin. Vitamin A is effective in treating acne, which is why it is commonly found in prescription ointments.
- Vitamin E – Has a beneficial effect in eliminating acne scars.
- Omega 3 Fatty Acids – Help in quick healing and addressing skin infections. They also aid in improving the function and regeneration of cells.
- Zinc – Also has anti-inflammatory effects.
